Last week, the Heath Sciences Education and Research Commons (HSERC) hosted one of Canada's largest annual simulation events. Collectively the Point of Care Ultrasound course and the Acute Critical Events Simulation (ACES) training course were a three-day event that brought together a broad range of specialist physicians from across Canada.

To support the simulation activities and lectures, ACES used HSERC's simulation lab, equipment, high fidelity mannequins and standardized patients in collaboration with Alberta Health Services' eSIM team. The ACES course was hosted with the cooperation of the University of Alberta, The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons, and Alberta Health Services.

HSERC is a collaborative environment for health science students, scholars and practitioners; HSERC is a key initiative of the Health Sciences Council, dedicated to advancing interprofessional team-based education and care.
