A Guide for Collaborative Practice

This guide provides the foundation for developing the skills for interprofessional communication, collaboration, and conflict management. Topics covered in the guide include team development, team-based decision-making, conflict management, communication strategies, giving and receiving feedback, and team debriefing. This is the course textbook for INT D 403: Foundations of Collaborative Practice and related courses.

Interprofessional Competency Videos

These short videos highlight the interprofessional practice competencies: communication, collaboration, role clarification, and reflection. Each video describes a competency, gives examples of effective and ineffective behaviours, and suggests tools for integrating and improving teamwork. These videos were created by the University of Alberta and Alberta Health Services as part of the Interprofessional Clinical Learning Unit (IPCLU) project.
