The University of Alberta Standardized Patient Program is currently recruiting for the fall exams. A Standardized Patient (SP) is a lay person who has been trained to accurately and consistently portray an actual patient at a particular point in time; the SP presents with the patient’s history, personality, physical finding, emotional structure and response pattern.
Licensure/Assessment Examination consists of a series of stations based on presentations of clinical scenarios. Including stations where the candidates' clinical skills are evaluated by examiners as they perform interviews, treatments, or examinations on standardized patients. HSERC Site Administrators assist in the recruitment and vetting of eligible standardized patients in collaboration with the Exam Board.
