CLASS 103 - Introduction to Ancient Greece*3 (3-0-0)

Description: This course is designed as an introduction to the world of Ancient Greece, from its emergence as a Bronze Age culture in the 3rd millennium down to its loss of independence in the first centuries A.D. or C.E. (Common Era). We will be making use of a variety of historical, literary and archaeological sources to survey, temporally and thematically, Ancient Greek history, mythology, religion, politics and culture. Formerly CLASS 270.

CLASS 110 - The Ancient World *3 (3-0-0)

Description: World history from the beginning of written records down to the sixth century AD. The course covers the ancient history of the Mediterranean world, with particular emphasis on Egypt, Greece and Rome and compares developments in civilization in these areas with those in Persia, India and China.
