Mary Ross Ellingson Graduate Scholarship

Awarded annually to an outstanding student in a graduate degree program in History and Classics whose research focus is in classical archaeology. A student may hold the award for a second year. Part-time students are eligible for this award.

Walter H Johns Memorial Graduate Scholarship in Classics

Endowed by the family, colleagues, and friends in memory of Dr Water H Johns, former Professor of Classics and President of the University of Alberta

Awarded annually on the basis of academic achievement to an outstanding student entering or continuing in a full-time graduate degree program in Classics. If in any year a suitable recipient in Classics is not available, outstanding students in Comparative Literature shall be eligible for consideration.

Melba Sadler Graduate Scholarship in Classics

Awarded annually to a full-time student in a master's or doctoral program in Classics. Selection will be made on the basis of academic merit, creativity, and intellectual curiosity. The award may be renewed up to a maximum of one time.

Ellie Swart Memorial Graduate Scholarship in Classics

Awarded annually to an outstanding student registered full-time in a graduate degree program in the Department of History and Classics or the Department of Modern Languages and Cultural Studies whose program pertains to the Classics or Romance Languages. The recipient will be selected on the basis of academic merit (minimum GPA equivalent to 3.5 on the University of Alberta grading scale).
