History & Classics' 2019 Undergraduate Research Symposium

An opportunity for undergraduate students from all departments and disciplines to network and showcase their research! March 28 & 29, 2019 at Tory B-96

12 March 2019

The 2019 Undergraduate Research Symposium is a conference organized by undergraduates for undergraduates in special commemoration of Constellations' ten consecutive years of publishing. Constellations is a student-run, student-written, and student-reviewed undergraduate journal, and strives to provide a forum for young historians and classicists to have an experience of writing for an academic journal.

The theme of the conference is simply the love of history. It aims to feature research that is historical in scope, from multiple departments within the University of Alberta and other local Edmonton post-secondary institutions.

While the research has to be historical in scope, you do not necessarily need to be a history student. Many other fields, such as political science, sociology, etc., produce work that is historical in nature and would make a great fit for the conference. If you have research that you are particularly proud of, we encourage you to consider presenting. You will have a great deal of freedom in terms of what you can present and how you would like to go about presenting it.The goal is to have fun, meet new people and gain presenting experience in a conference setting.

Submission deadline: March 15, 2019 (Sign up at https://journals.library.ualberta.ca/constellations/index.php/constellations and click on "Constellations 10th Year Conference")
