BA in Classics Requirements

Major and Minor in Classics

Major Areas of Concentration

  • Classical Studies: minimum of ★30, maximum of ★48 in CLASS courses at the senior level with at least ★18 at the 300-level or above, including at least ★6 at the 400-level. HIST 324 may be counted toward a major in Classical Studies. (May be combined with a minor in Classical Language.) Note: See Cross-Listed Courses regarding cross-listed regulations.
  • Classics and Classical Languages: Any combination of courses in CLASS, GREEK and LATIN, totalling a minimum of ★30 and a maximum of ★48 at the senior level, with at least ★18 at the 300-level or above, including at least ★6 at the 400-level. This program includes a minimum requirement of ★12 in Classical Languages (LATIN and/or GREEK). (May not be combined with a minor in Classics of any kind.) Minor in Classics

  • Classical Studies: ★12 at the senior level in CLASS courses, with at least ★6 at the 300- or 400-level. This option does not apply to students majoring in Honors in Classical Languages or Classical Studies or Major and Minor in Classics above.
  • Classical Language: ★12 at the senior level in GREEK and/or LATIN. This option does not apply to students majoring in Combined Honors in Classics and Another Discipline or Major and Minor in Classics above.
