This course is designed as an introduction to the world of Ancient Greece, from its emergence as a Bronze Age culture in the 3rd millennium down to its loss of independence in the first centuries A.D. or C.E. (Common Era). We will be making use of a variety of historical, literary and archaeological sources to survey, temporally and thematically, Ancient Greek history, mythology, religion, politics and culture.
