Compensation Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning

Compensation, Talent Acquisition, and Workforce Planning provides strategic consultation, advice and services related to the alignment of organizational structures, roles and processes with the strategic objectives of departments, faculties and administrative units. Compensation

  • Design an effective total rewards strategy to drive performance, attract talent and create alignment with organization imperatives and strategies
  • Develop, recommend and implement sustainable compensation practices, policies and structures, including job evaluation systems, salary structures and pay practices
  • Ensure market competitiveness through conducting and responding to salary surveys

Job Evaluation

  • Provide Job Fact Sheet/Position Description writing education, training and support
  • Design and monitor the job evaluation process
  • Evaluate jobs using the University’s job evaluation methodologies
  • Define a job architecture that facilitates career mobility
  • Organize and categorize jobs and job information into tools and documentation

Talent Acquisition

  • Facilitate talent sourcing strategies via internal and external postings to attract top talent
  • Consult on talent acquisition best practice
  • Ensure union compliance within the talent acquisition process
  • Communicate and administer summer temporary employment programs

Interim Staffing Solutions

  • A Human Resource Services program that offers temporary staffing to help university clients meet interim business needs that range anywhere from a few hours up to a year

Relocation

  • Coordinate relocation activities for eligible new hires to enhance the recruitment experience
  • One point of contact to manage relocation activities for new hires and hiring departments

Immigration

  • Consult on all immigration matters pertaining to academics, staff and visitors
  • Facilitate the entry of foreign nationals into Canada, including LMIA positions, visitors under International Mobility Program (IMP), and those exempt from LMIA and IMP
  • Resolve immigration-related issues for foreign staff and visitors
  • Consult with individual foreign nationals regarding acquiring and maintaining legal immigration status
  • Advise and consult on permanent residence process for academic staff

Workforce Planning

  • Develop and disseminate a workforce planning methodology and tools
  • Support faculties/departments/units by facilitating a systematic approach to defining the workforce required to execute strategy

Job/Organization Design

  • Conduct job analysis to support effective job design; identify the design approach best suited to the desired outcomes
  • Support faculties/departments/units by facilitating a systematic approach to shaping and aligning all elements of their organization to optimize performance and execute strategy
