Benchmarks and Sample Position Descriptions

Writing Position Descriptions can be a challenging process. The Trust Research Academic Staff (TRAS) benchmarks and sample Position Descriptions are being provided to assist Principal Investigators in the design and development of positions for their areas. They are also intended to:

  • Provide information on types of positions and their corresponding levels
  • Support internal equity, as all positions will be evaluated against the benchmarks
  • Provide easy access to sample/comparator Position Descriptions
  • Assist Principal Investigators with the assessment of appropriate salary levels for grant applications
