Attend the Safety and Risk Symposium

14 October 2020

Risk Management Services invites you to attend the first-ever Safety and Risk Symposium—a series of online presentations, workshops, and facilitated discussions that will be held throughout November.

These events are intended for anyone who manages safety or risk at the university, including supervisors and members of institutional safety committees. Participants will learn about tools, resources and tips they can use to improve safety in their own areas and gain a deeper understanding of the institution's current approach to risks.

The sessions include two presentations by members of Human Resource Services.

On Thursday, November 5, Marj Cayford, Senior HR Partner and Geraldine McCune, Director of Organizational Development, Engagement and Health, will facilitate a discussion on how the workplace has changed over the last several months to come up with ideas and strategies for new workplace norms.

On Tuesday, November 10, Sarah Flower, Manager of Health Promotion, will present psychological health and safety resources for staff and supervisors.

Other sessions cover experiences and tips on incident reporting, workplace and domestic violence prevention and mitigation, tools for continuity planning, managing the university’s top risks, and managing research during a pandemic.

Detailed information about each session is available on the Safety & Risk Symposium 2020 web page. Register by October 30, 2020.
