Health Spending Account Reimbursement of additional health and dental expenses not eligible under the employee's other benefit plans. Annual allocation of $750 per calendar year per staff member. Long Term Disability Loss of income in the event of a long-term disability Benefit is 70% of salary and is taxable. The University's Health Promotion and Work Life Services unit initiates the claim process. Application for benefits occurs after 26 weeks elimination period. Life Insurance Basic Provides a lump sum to the designated beneficiary(ies) in the event of death $100,000 flat coverage amount. Universities Academic Pension Plan (UAPP) Defined benefit pension plan which provides retirement and survivor income replacement. Date of appointment Both the University and the Employee make equal contributions to the plan.
Executive Defined Contribution Supplemental Retirement Plan (EDCSRP) A defined contribution retirement benefit in addition to the UAPP for members with annual pensionable salary exceeding the annual UAPP salary cap. Subject to annual pensionable salary exceeding the UAPP pensionable salary cap to the EDCSRP salary cap 100% employer paid contribution based on sum of member age and pensionable service

Child Care Benefit Funds provided for the reimbursement of child care expenses incurred by staff member. Date of appointment 50% reimbursement of expenses up to a maximum of $2,000 per calendar year per eligible child
Professional Expense Reimbursement (PER) Funds provided for the reimbursement of professional expenses incurred by staff member. Expense claims are submitted to Human Resource Services. Date of appointment $1,400 per academic year
Compassionate Care and Emergency Leave Up to 6 months of paid or unpaid leave in cases of catastrophic illness or where an urgent domestic situation requiring care and support of a family member. Date of appointment 100% of salary, subject to approval
