Alexandra Dixon is currently a student in the Health Promotion concentration of the Master of Public Health program at the University of Alberta. She previously completed a Bachelor of Science degree in the Faculty of Science and also pursued further after-degree coursework in the Faculty of Arts. During her undergraduate years, Alexandra worked as a summer laboratory research assistant in medical research on a variety of projects related to human nutrition and cancer. Alexandra has also served actively as a long-term program coordinator for the Canadian Skin Cancer Foundation’s Go Safe Education Program in the Edmonton area. She was the recipient of the 2014 Alberta Innovates-Health Solutions Media Fellowship in which she worked at CBC Radio to popularize and improve the communication of science in the broadcast media.
