Dr. Rickey Yada is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Land and Food Systems, and Professor of Food Science at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Among other activities, he is the Scientific Director of the Advanced Foods and Materials Canada Network, the Vice Chair of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Institute of Nutrition, Metabolism and Diabetes, the President of the International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST), is the North American Editor for Trends in Food Science and Technology and is on the editorial boards for several journals. He is the author of over 190 refereed journal publications and several book chapters. Dr. Yada is a Past President and Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Food Science and Technology, as well as being a Fellow of the International Academy of IUFoST and the Institute of Food Technologists.
