UAlberta and Fulbright Canada renew Agreement

    UAlberta is proud to partner with Fulbright Canada to provide international opportunities for students, faculty, and researchers. The agreement between UAlberta and Fulbright Canada was recently renewed.

    On Wednesday, December 12th, UAlberta International hosted Dr. Michael Hawes, the CEO of Fulbright Canada, for an event celebrating the UAlberta-Fulbright Canada relationship, and a renewal of their agreement.

    Dr. Laura Beard, Associate Vice-President (Research), UAlberta, gave opening remarks. Following this, Dr. Hawes presented on the value of the Fulbright program, and the opportunities available to students, faculty, and researchers through the program.

    Prof. Jessica Shoemaker, Fulbright Canada Research Chair in Aboriginal Legal and Resource Rights, visiting UAlberta from the University of Nebraska, presented on her research. Titled “Indigenous Land Tenure in the United States and Canada," her research will have impact in both Canada and the United States.

    After Prof. Shoemaker's presentation, Dr. Hawes and Dr. Beard, representing Fulbright Canada and UAlberta, respectively, signed a renewal of the agreement between the organization and the university.
