Dr. Gehrold with Danielle Scott, Director of International Relations, UAlberta International
Dr. Stefan Gehrold a member of the 8th European Union parliament visited UAlberta on July 9 to give a presentation " The EU Election 2019 and the Existing Political Challenges in Europe-- Brexit, Migration, Sovereign Debt and Climate Change." During the presentation he shared insights about the most crucial challenges that the European Union has been facing in the recent years, the effect of these challenges on the recent election, and the future of the European Parliament. Throughout the presentation Dr. Gehrold was able to share his perspective as a European Parliamentarian.
After his presentation Dr. Gehrold also joined a traditional "stammtisch" event on campus which brings together the UAlberta German community and all those who are interested in Germany. UAlberta International is looking forward to working with Dr. Gehrold on strengthening the UAlberta-Europe relations in order to provide new opportunities for students and researches on both sides of the Atlantic.
