UAlberta International is committed to the safety and security of both students and staff travelling abroad.
We have designated specialists and programming to ensure students and staff are aware of the potential risks associated with off-campus activities abroad and to provide important resources and information for those undertaking international activities.
All UAlberta students on a UAI-administered abroad program must attend a mandatory pre-departure info session that covers topics about health and safety, as well as take other steps to support their safety and security while abroad.
See Safety & Security Abroad for students participating in Education Abroad experiences.
Faculty & Staff
Faculty and staff planning activities abroad that involve students should contact UAI's risk management coordinator for a risk management consultation.
Faculty and staff planning abroad activities that do not involve students do not need to contact UAI, but must still comply with UAlberta’s Off-Campus Activity and Travel Policy.
