Killam Fellowships Website

The Killam Fellowships program is a bilateral, international exchange agreement between Canada and the United States of America, with participants attending one of fifteen participating colleges and universities, in locations around the USA. All Killam Fellowships can be undertaken either for one semester or a full year, and participants are generously funded; receiving $5,000 USD per semester automatically to fund their studies. Up to three University of Alberta students may be selected for the program.

Please note that the Killam Fellowship Program is open only to Canadian citizens.

The Killam exchange application process is different from that required for all other exchange options and has an earlier application deadline

Although it is NOT required, you are strongly encouraged to meet with Michal Guzowski, the Exchange Programs Coordinator, BEFORE you start an application.  Michal has regular, drop-in advising hours every Tuesday from 8:30 am - 12:00 pm and 1:30 - 4:00 pm during the Fall and Winter terms and from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm and 1:30 - 3:30 pm during the Spring and Summer terms.  You can find him in Room 142, Telus Centre (i.e., the International Services Centre).  Michal can be reached via email at
