German Sport University - KSR - Exchange
City: Cologne Country: Germany
Overview
- Founded in 1947, the German Sport University (GSU), is the only university in Germany that is dedicated exclusively to the world of sport and exercise science.
- The campus is located in the city of Cologne, a sports metropolis with over 800 sports clubs and home to many sport science institutions.
- Located at the Müngersdorf Sport Park, in the heart of Cologne's green belt and within an almost perfect sport infrastructure, the University is home to Momentum, the German Research Centre of Elite Sport.
- Thanks to its varied teaching and research environments, its close interlocking of theory and academically-based practice in all fields and types of sport, as well as its excellent services in sport and exercise science, GSU is established as the top European Sport University.
Why don't you combine your participation in this exchange with participation in an internship as well? We could send you on an International Work Experience (IWE) internship before or after your exchange. If you are interested in going out on both programs send an email to goabroad@ualberta.ca asking for more details.
When Can I Go?
Fall term equivalent: September - March
Winter term equivalent: March - September*
*A mid- or late July end to a Winter term equivalent exchange at GSU might be possible but it would depend on the courses you choose to take while on exchange. If you don't want your Winter term equivalent exchange to end in September then you should speak with GSU after you have been accepted for the exchange and once you are able to start registering in courses so that you select appropriate courses to allow you to finish in July.
