Overview
What the Program has to offer:
- A semester-long course, where students are challenged to explore the political and historical lenses that interpret Latin American and world relations
- Students have two choices of programs to pursue: (1) Universidad de Oriente Campus stream; or (2) Santiago de Cuba Community stream
- Option 1 - Universidad de Oriente Campus: Students study at the Universidad de Oriente Campus alongside Cuban students. This stream exposes participants to a different style of learning, marked by the real material conditions experienced by all Cuban youth
- Option 2 - Santiago de Cuba Community: In addition to classroom-based Spanish instructions, students will engage in significant community service-learning placements in the province of Santiago de Cuba. The placements will connect broadly with the discipline of global and development studies and may include educational, health, agricultural and social service sectors
