Overview

The Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona Summer School is the best way to enjoy the experience of an international, green, and dynamic campus while having the opportunity to discover the city of Barcelona. The UAB Summer School offers courses in two, three-week periods from late June to early August. Most of the courses are taught in English and you will also get the chance to learn and improve your Spanish as a Foreign Language.

Program Information

Language of Instruction: English

1st Period | June 25 - July 12, 2024 | €910 per course | 9am-12:30pm
All courses taught are worth 6 ECTS (equivalent to 3* credits at the University of Alberta). Course offerings include:

• Beeology: Honeybee Science from Theory to Practice
• Contemporary Challenges in international Relations
• Contemporary Spain through the Eye of the Movie Camera (taught in Spanish)
• Culture, Society and Health
• Data Protection Legislation & Ethics
• Español como Lengua extranjera (A1 MCER)
/Spanish as a second Language (A1 CEFR) NEW
• Geography of global Change
• How the Brain Works
• Innovation and Entrepreneurship
• Leadership, Negotiation Techniques
• Project Design based on Mediterranean Biodiversity
• Resources for Teaching and Learning English in Infant and Primary Education (online)
• The Global Energy Problem: The scientific basis of Energy Management

Students have the option to also take an afternoon class from 3pm - 5pm for an additional fee of €280
  • Complimentary Spanish Basic (Level A1)

2nd Period | July 15 - August 2, 2024| €910 per course  | 9am-12:30pm

• Advanced Programming
• Animal Law: Theoretical and practical Aspects of a growing Field NEW

Credit Information

Enrolment period for UAB is from early February to June 2. 

Applications in Horizons will be processed after the January 23, 2024 inital deadline.
