Overview

The European Summer Program is a four-week program for international students who want to discover Europe and learn how to speak French. It takes place annually, in two separate periods, from May - July, in Lille (located in northern France).

Either period of ESP would allow students to take 12 ECTS worth of courses (6 UAlberta credits) during their summer abroad.

The program is designed as a real « package », including courses, trips in Northern France and some large European cities, accommodation, some meals, detailed orientation session, and pick-up at the train station.

Terms Offered: Spring or Summer

Dates & Duration: Approximately four weeks for each period offered.

Period 1: May 22 - June 20, 2024

Period 2: June 26 - July 24, 2024

Université Catholique de Lille Credit Information

You do not require any French pre-requisites to participate in this program.

Fees & Costs

Education Abroad Nomination Fee: $250.00 CAD

Lille Tuition, Administrative Fees, and Hospitality Pack: € 3,450 per period.

NOTE: It is possible for students to participate in both sessions. Students who choose this option will receive a 10% discount on the second program fee. Once admitted, please let your Education Abroad Advisor know if you are interested in taking both sessions.

Housing

Accommodation for the duration of the program is provided and included in fees paid.  More information about accommodations can be found here, in the drop down section entitled, "Accommodation".

Hospitality package includes accommodation in student dorms, meal pass for cafeteria with 50Euro credit, orientation package, monthly bus pass, fieldtrips to Bruges & Brussels, 5 group dinners, cultural and social activities, and more!
