Energy Strategy and Finance

2-week Program: September 16 to September 27, 2019
(Edmonton, Jasper/Banff, Calgary)

This oil and gas program is designed to meet education and career needs of middle to higher level professionals in firms or resource ministries worldwide. Participants use Western Canada’s dynamic energy sector as a foundation for understanding the links between individual resource plays and global energy trends. The goal is to deepen awareness of risks, uncertainties, and challenges in the global petroleum environment. Participants attain this by taking up and utilizing current concepts in resource management, generating strategy within peer groups, developing sound evaluations, and applying these in an engaging learning environment.

    • regulatory frameworks
    • strategic management of energy resources
    • energy finance
    • energy finance from a strategic perspective
    • supply chain management
    • petroleum project management
    • extraction and production technologies

    • tolling, tariff and regulatory transportation concerns
    • oil and gas marketing and trading
    • pipeline integrity management
       
  • Case studies, developed and presented within peer teams
  • Rotation to key Alberta locations, including program site visits:     
    • administrative capital (Edmonton)
    • industry headquarters (Calgary)
    • Rocky Mountains (double occupancy) OR the Alberta Oilsands

Participation Fee Per Person for the Full Two-Week Program

$9,250 USD

Participation Fee Per Person for One Week

$5,000 USD

Participants have the option of attending either the first or second week of the program, Monday to Friday of either week.

Fees for the one- or two-week programs include all course sessions, group activities, weekend excursion to the Rocky Mountains or the Alberta Oilsands, airport-hotel/site visit transportation, and related features.

Not included in the program fee is accommodation in Edmonton and Calgary, and evening meals and lunch on weekends.

Early Bird: Register by May 1, 2019 and receive a $500 USD discount per person*

Group Rate: For groups of 3 or more, receive a $700 USD discount per person*

*Applies to Program Fee only and can be used in combination.

 

Accommodation/Lodging and Transportation Costs
Participants can choose to arrange for their own accommodation or take advantage of the special group rates negotiated by our program organizers.

Pricing is per person for 6 nights in Edmonton and 6 nights in Calgary, with breakfast included. Hotels are within 5-minutes' walking distance from the program venue. Kitchenettes are in all rooms.

For those participants wishing to have their spouse accompany them, a separate, pre-planned program is available. Each hospitality program participant is still required to register. See below link to register.
