International Relations

Through Faculties, researchers, staff, and students, the University of Alberta is engaged with institutions around the globe. UAlberta International helps to facilitate international collaboration by serving as a connector between UAlberta and the world.

UAI's International Relations unit aims to further UAlberta's global connections, profile, and innovation in teaching, research, and service, working with partners on campus, in Canada, and across the world.

In serving the University of Alberta, the international relations team:

• Provides regional expertise and maintains a database of the university's international activities

• Develops and implements global partnership strategies aligned with the institutional strategy For the Public Good

• Initiates and maintains relationships with key institutions

• Facilitates the development of major international initiatives, including research partnerships, in collaboration with Faculties and other offices such as the Vice-President (Research) Office

• Identifies funding opportunities

• Hosts high-level incoming international delegations

• Coordinates outgoing missions by senior administrators

• Organizes select high-profile events, and

• Manages the development of Faculty and institutional level international agreements

Highlights of some of UAlberta's many international activities are included in the regional pages. Spanning across regions, the University of Alberta is a member of the Worldwide Universities Network, which includes top research universities and provides support for partnership activities.
