I-Work! Skills for Cross-Cultural Employment
Build the skills you need to gain and maintain employment in Canada!
I-Work! is a series of workshops and events related to career development for international students. Workshops or events occur every month, September to February and a full-day career conference in March!
The workshop series and the one-day career conference are open to all undergraduate and graduate international students. Attend the workshops and a one-day conference to improve your skills and knowledge to work in Canada.
Students have the opportunity to learn how to:
- Develop job searching strategies
- Understand Canada's hiring practices
- Prepare a targeted cover letter and resume
- Use LinkedIn and network with professionals
- Enhance interview skills by participating in a mock interview exercise
- Transition to a Canadian workplace.

Practice your job search skills with the I-Work Challenge!
A 30 min job search challenge is emailed to you to complete every weekday. All tasks are career-related. By completing the challenges, you can:
- Develop and practice job search skills
- Cultivate a network and connect with professionals to get industry trend insights
- Build confidence to market/promote yourself to prospective employers
We Support You Through the 10-day Challenge
There will be two Zoom sessions for you to ask questions, share your experiences doing the tasks and connect to other I-Work Challenge participants. These sessions are not mandatory but can provide the support you need to get through the 10-days. All participants receive a zoom invitation to attend.
Complete All 10 Daily Tasks for a Chance to Win a Gift Basket
All participants who complete all 10 daily challenges enter a draw for a gift basket. The first three names that are drawn — win!
Please note that you do not need to commit to the entire 10-day program. We provide detailed program information upon registration.
