Information on Cannabis

On October 17, 2018, Canada legalized cannabis for recreational use with the Cannabis Act.

You may have questions related to cannabis, its use, and the law. It is your responsibility to read and know the laws. What are the risks and responsibilities? Taking cannabis across Canada's borders for any reason is illegal. What do you need to know about cannabis?

The Government of Canada decided to legalize cannabis, but provinces, municipalities and the University of Alberta campus are responsible for the rules concerning cannabis consumption, sale, and storage.
