As COVID-19, the novel coronavirus, spreads across the globe, and our own health service authorities move from a situation of planning to responding, we have an opportunity to reflect on how the world is reacting to this global health situation. Moral ethical issues that arise from pandemics are many, including those related to allocation of healthcare resources, restriction of individual freedom, social justice, and professional obligations.
