Intramural Sports

Intramural Council

The Intramural Council is comprised of all the Unit Managers, Intramural Recreation Facilitators and Intramural Program Staff. The Council meets to share information relevant to the Intramural Program and to discuss programming challenges and issues.

The Intramural Council hold meetings approximately once per month. The Council: (1) makes recommendations concerning intramural activities; (2) ensure that all policies relating to intramural activities are implemented; (3) reviews regulations respecting any matters it considers necessary or advisable to carry out intramural policy and maintain or improve the intramural program.

Members of the Intramural Council can also make recommendations for changes to Intramural policies and make recommendations for changes to Intramurals programming and suggestions for new programming.

Units designate Unit Managers (up to 4) to handle the responsibilities of managing the Unit. Units are encouraged to appoint the necessary number of Unit Managers but it must be remembered that each unit has only one vote within the Intramural Council.

Intramural Awards Committee (IAC)

The Intramural Awards Council is responsible for all overseeing all awards handed out within the Intramural Program. The IAC reviews submitted “Intramural Awards Nomination Forms” and decides on the winners. The IAC is also responsible for reviewing all matters pertaining to Intramural Awards and Trophies, including the introduction of new awards, assisting with the planning on the Intramural/Club Sports Awards Banquet, etc.

Intramural Sports Rules and Regulations Committee (ISRRC)
The Intramural Rules and Regulations Board is responsible for overseeing all Intramural Sports Rulebooks. The ISRRC reviews submitted Intramural Rules and Regulations Review Forms(hyperlink) and decides on any suggested rule or regulations changes. Any participant can submit a form and request a rule or regulation be reviewed for change.

Intramural Conduct Board (ICB)
The Intramural Conduct Board hears and rules on protests and discipline arising from the Intramural Program.

The ICB reviews Applications for Reinstatement (hyperlink?) that are submitted by a participant in the Intramural Program who has been suspended from Intramural Programming. It is the duty of the ICB to meet to review cases and decide on the appropriate sanctions for the parties involved.

Team Name Review Board (TNRB)
The Intramural Team Name Review Board reviews team names submitted by Intramural Program staff for review and rule on whether those Team Names are appropriate and within established Intramural Guidelines.

Women’s Intramural Network (WIN)
The Women’s Intramural Network is comprised of women in the intramural program and representatives from each Intramural Unit. The WIN meets to discuss topics affecting Women-Only Intramural programming and to provide feedback and discuss ideas for the improvement of the program as a whole.
