The Wilson Climbing Centre will be hosting TOUR DE BLOC on Saturday December 10. The Tour de Bloc was established in 2003 with the aim of promoting competitive climbing in Canada through a structured bouldering circuit. Now, Tour de Bloc is recognized as Canada's national competitive bouldering circuit, and has stops all the way from the Atlantic provinces to Western BC.
We will be seeing the strongest boulderers from Western Canada competing in an open scramble format qualifying round, with the top 6 male and top 6 female climbers advancing to a World Cup-style finals round in the evening.
Climbers will be competing to accumulate points towards their season total. The top climbers of the season will progress to the Canadian National Boulderng Finals competition early next year. Here they will compete for spots on the Canadian National Bouldering team, and represent Canada at international events.
Tour de Bloc will see the Wilson Climbing Centre transformed - there will be boulder problems on both levels for the scramble format, meaning extra space and new terrain for bouldering. The event will be open to spectators, so if you aren't planning to climb, come out and cheer on the athletes! The world-cup style, 4:00+ finals round will be especially exciting to watch.
Tour de Bloc is open to register for anyone! All ages and skill levels are welcome, and in addition to the Competitive categories, there is a Recreational division.

Competitive categories = $50
Recreational = $35
Competitors must purchase an ACA membership to become a Series member, to have their points tracked, and to be eligible for end-of-season awards.

Waivers:
Competitors must fill out and sign awaiver form.
Competitors under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian to fill out and sign a different Assumption of Risk form.
