Foote Field, located on the University of Alberta’s South Campus, is a multi-use sport training and competition facility, designed for football, track and field and soccer. Opened in 2001 as a legacy of the Edmonton 2001 World Championships in Athletics, the City of Edmonton and the University of Alberta have a joint use agreement in place for the shared use of the fields.
It is the home of the University of Alberta’s high-performance sport teams, the
Golden Bears and Pandas, in track and field, football, soccer and rugby. It hosts academic classes, intramurals and recreational programming.
Our facility plays host to regional, provincial, national and international sport organizations and competitions in addition to supporting grassroots community programming, such as recreational leagues, local school training and competitions, and charitable organization fundraisers
