The Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation is excited to host two groups from three different international institutions for the 2018 International Summer School Program (ISSP). Hosted by the Faculty's International and Community Education team, ISSP is catered to international university students to introduce them to Canadian perspectives on sport, recreation, leisure and health.

The first group comprises 35 students and administrators from the Nanjing Sport Institute, with the second group being a blend of 33 students and administrators from Beijing Sport Institute and Shanghai International Studies University. Each group will spend three weeks experiencing the Faculty, the University of Alberta, Edmonton and Alberta from a sport, recreation, leisure and health context.

"During the course of the three weeks, each group will participate in a carefully planned program that provides students with a unique experience and the opportunity to consider different perspectives, academically and culturally," says Christine Ma, Assistant Dean, International and Community Education. "Through lectures hosted by Faculty members and graduate students; activities planned and executed by Campus & Community Recreation; and trips to Edmonton recreational locations and Alberta landmarks such as the Rocky Mountains, we hope to deliver not only a uniquely Canadian experience, but an experience that showcases the incredible and diverse aspects of both the academic and service offerings of our Faculty."
