Faculty Recognition

Kerry Courneya: Dr. Courneya was awarded the Canadian Cancer Society's O. Harold Warwock Prize for his outstanding achievements in exercise oncology. READ MORE

Craig Steinback: Dr. Steinback was named a Heart and Stroke Foundation National New Investigator for his research looking at the neural control of blood pressure in healthy and complex pregnancies. READ MORE

Julienne Cancio: Best Poster Presentation at ReCon VIII. Topic: "Association between sleep quantity, physical activity, and depression among US adults: Analysis of the NHANES 2015-2016."

Erin Ratelle: Best Short Oral Presentation at ReCon VIII. Topic: "Self-Presentation of Select Female Athletes on Instagram and Public Responses"

Chen Chen: Best Long Oral Presentation at ReCon VIII. Topic: "1968-2018: A Homage to the Black Power Salute."

Julienne Cancio: Profiling Alberta's Graduate Student Award. This award is intended to financially support graduate students who wish to travel in the interests of disseminating/presenting their research results or developing their research by attending recognized conferences held in either Alberta, Canada or Internationally.

Xiaoxu Liu: China Scholarship Council Joint PhD Student Scholarship. China Scholarship Council (CSC) is a non-profit institution affiliated with the Ministry of Education of the P.R.China.It is entrusted by the Chinese Government with the responsibilities of managing the State Scholarship Fund and other related affairs.It sponsors Chinese citizens to pursue study abroad and international students to study in China. Athletics Recognition

Len Vickery, Golden Bears Soccer Head Coach: Vickery became the first soccer coach in University of Alberta history to earn 300 career wins. In 34 seasons coaching the Bears, Vickery owns a 302-136-94 record as of September 24, 2018. READ MORE

Ajeej Sarkaria, third-year Golden Bears Soccer forward: Sakaria set new Golden Bears record for career goals and points on September 4th. He also set the new Canada West record for career game-winning goals. READ MORE
