In Memoriam: Patricia Conger

The Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation is saddened by the passing of former Faculty associate professor Patricia (Pat) Conger

The Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation is saddened by the passing of former Faculty associate professor Patricia (Pat) Conger. Pat's family announced that the former associate professor and fitness researcher (1963-1992) passed away on Friday, June 14, 2019.

Pat was an associate professor of the Department of Physical Education from September 1963 until August 1992. She devoted most of her teaching to the areas of anthropometry, tests and measurements, and aquatics. Pat also financially supported the Ruby Anderson Undergraduate Award Fund.

Pat's service to the Faculty includes her work with the graduate program, advising undergraduates and service on numerous committees will not be forgotten.

**Excerpt from obituary**

Patricia (Pat) Conger was a long time resident of the Fort Saskatchewan area. She lived on her beloved farm for 45 years, sang in the "Bach to Pops" choir, played in the Fort Saskatchewan Community Band and was an active member in a local painting group.

Pat was a professor at the University of Alberta in the then Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation. She was an early researcher in the area of fitness.

Pat volunteered for years at Pioneer Ranch Camps, helped at Partridge Hill United Church and in more recent years attended the Sherwood Park Cowboy

A memorial service for Pat will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cowboy Church in Sherwood Park (52 Peacock Dr., Sherwood Park, AB: MAP).
