Faculty Recognition

The 2019 QS World University Rankings by Subject saw the University of Alberta maintain a spot among the top 10 in the category of sports-related subject-finishing 9th-for the third year in row. READ MORE

Donna Goodwin: Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research Great Supervisor Award. The FGSR Great Supervisory Award recipients were selected by people who work closely with graduate students -Associate Chairs, graduate coordinators, graduate program staff, department chairs, and others professors and students who recognize the dedication and skill of a supervisor in their program. Student Recognition

Christine Biggs (MCoach): 2018-19 Atlantic University Sport Coach of the Year. University of New Brunswick Reds women's volleyball head coach was named AUS Coach of the Year as voted on by her AUS coaching peers. READ MORE

Janita Frantsi (MA): Good Women Dance Collective Scholarship. The scholarship is for professional and pre-professional dance artists in Edmonton who have significant pre-professional training and an interest in pursuing a professional dance career and dedicating themselves to further training. The recipient has access to Good Women Dance Collective's dance classes. READ MORE

Brooklyn Legault (BKin): Canada West Courage Overcoming Adversity Award. After claiming the Canada West and U SPORTS Rookie of the Year award in 2016, Alberta Panda Brooklyn Legault has had to work for every moment on the court. READ MORE

Alex Poznikoff (BARST): Canada West 2018-19 Women's Hockey Player of the Year. The fourth-year Alberta Panda takes home the conference's highest honour after leading both CW and U SPORTS in scoring with 37 points (15G-22A) this season, helping Alberta to first-place in the conference. READ MORE

Staff Recognition

Howie Draper: Canada West Women's Hockey Coach of the Year. The longtime coach of the Pandas is the Canada West Coach of the Year for a sixth time in his career. READ MORE

Athletics Recognition

Golden Bears and Pandas Curling sweep Canada West Curling titles. Bears win fourth straight Canada West title, and Pandas capture first title in program history. READ MORE

Golden Bears Wrestling captures third straight Canada West Championship. READ MORE

Golden Bears and Pandas Swimming win three total medals at U SPORTS Swimming Championships. READ MORE

Golden Bears and Pandas Track and Field each earn bronze at the 2019 Canada West Track and Field Championships. READ MORE

Seven medals were won by Golden Bears and Pandas Wrestling at the 2019 U SPORTS Championship. READ MORE

Golden Bears and Pandas Tennis capture Western Regional Championships. The 2019 titles are the 13th straight Western Canadian wins for both teams. READ MORE

Pandas Hockey captures 13th Canada West Championship. The Pandas swept the University of Manitoba Bisons, to win their first conference title since 2015. READ MORE
