International Summer School

BSU Summer School 2015

The Faculty of Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation's International Summer School Program is an interactive program where students will participate in a variety of activities that will give them an experience of a lifetime.

Students will attend lectures from a variety of disciplines that are given by Faculty Professors who are experts in their fields. Topics include: sport tourism, exercise physiology, sport psychology, recreation and sport management, health-related physical activity promotion, adapted physical activity, and coaching. There will also be lectures that provide the history and context of Western Canada and Alberta to help students better understand their experience here in Canada.

Students will have the opportunity to participate in and try new sports and activities, both in our world-class facilities, but also throughout Edmonton and Alberta.

Activities such as rock climbing, curling, floor hockey, and lacrosse will be highlighted. These will also give students a chance to meet and interact with UAlberta students.

A number of cultural and sports excursions are planned for students to experience the fantastic summer in Edmonton that truly immerses students in Canadian culture, amongst Canadians. Students will attend a football game, the City's biggest exhibition, K-Days, numerous parks and outdoor excursions in the River Valley and around Edmonton, and visit one of the world's biggest shopping centres, West Edmonton Mall.

An excursion to the Rocky Mountains is part of the program and students will see the majestic Rocky Mountains during their time with us.
