U of A Ukrainian Folklore Program Announces $11,000 in New Scholarships and Upcoming Courses for 2013-14 Academic Year

The Kule Folklore Centre at the University of Alberta would also like to announce an exciting line up of six Ukrainian and general folklore courses for the upcoming 2013-14 spring, fall and winter semesters at the University of Alberta.

The Kule Folklore Centre, North America's only Ukrainian folklore teaching and research centre, is pleased to announce $11,000 in new undergraduate scholarships. Students taking the Ukrainian Culture and Ukrainian Dance courses will be eligible to apply for 29 awards. The Kule Folklore Centre would like to thank the Friends of the Ukrainian Folklore Centre for championing and sponsoring these awards.

The Kule Folklore Centre and the Friends society annually manage and administer nearly $100,000 in undergraduate and graduate scholarships for students taking Ukrainian folklore classes. For more information on Ukrainian folklore student awards, please visit www.ukrfolk.ca

These courses are offered through the Department of Modern Languages and Cultural Studies and include a Ukrainian dance course which is the only one of its kind in North America.
