The Kule Folklore Centre at the Faculty of Arts is celebrating its 15th Anniversary and our many achievements.

The Kule Folklore Centre has aspired to become the most important centre for the study of Ukrainian culture outside of Ukraine. Over the past 15 years we have identified several strategic priorities and planned initiatives to meet those priorities. They are:

  • teaching undergraduate and graduate programs
  • developing internet materials, including course delivery and resource banks
  • conducting fieldwork and maintaining the Archive
  • reaching out to the community with publications, exhibits and by other means
  • supporting researchers and students with scholarships and assistantships

The Bohdan Medwidsky Ukrainian Folklore Archives housed in the Kule Folklore Centre is the largest North American repository of Ukrainian and Canadian-Ukrainian folklore materials and continues to grow. We are grateful to our numerous donors who have helped to establish eight endowments and two Chairs affiliated with the centre.

The Kule Folklore Centre will be holding a series of public and private events, as well as displaying our exhibits.
