Please join us at 4 pm on September 19th at 2-5 Business Building for a presentation by Oleksandr Pankieiev entitled "Place Identity of Villagers in Ukraine: An Ethnographic Approach."

Oleksandr Pankieiev received his M. A. in History and Archival Science at Zaporizhzhia National University, Ph.D. program in History at M. S. Hrushevsky Institute of Ukrainian Archaeography and Source Studies at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He has served as associate researcher in the Department of Artifacts of Prince and Kozak Era at M. S. Hrushevsky Institute of Ukrainian Archaeography and Source Studies at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, assistant in information research and communications at the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies, University of Alberta, and coordinator of varied print and multimedia projects, including Intellectual food. He is also a member of Yakiv Novytsky Zaporizhzhia Scholarly Society. His research interests include history of the state system of Southern Ukraine in the second half of the ХVІІІ century, history and theory of bureaucracy, and oral history.
