Maryna Chernyavska serves as the Researcher in the Kule Folklore Center and the Archivist in the Bohdan Medwidsky Ukrainian Folklore Archives. She has an MA in Ukrainian Folklore and a Master of Library and Information Studies from the University of Alberta.

Maryna works on various projects in the Archives and the Kule Folklore Centre including research projects, publications, exhibits, digitization initiatives, online accessibility of archival materials and other. Maryna is active in the archival community locally and internationally. She serves on the Bureau of the University and Research Institution Archives Section of the International Council on Archives, and is a co-chair of the Board of the Working Group on Archives of the International Society for Ethnology and Folklore. Maryna's research focuses on folklore and tradition archives and archiving, digital archives, Ukrainian Canadian cultural heritage, and intangible cultural heritage.
