The Falling Walls Lab is a German led initiative that showcases the quality, passion and talent of outstanding Next Gen innovators. After a successful 2014 Lab, UAlberta was invited to host another this year. Participants from a variety of disciplines will be pitching their ideas to a distinguished jury with members from academia, government and business. Jury members include Ray Muzyka (Founder/CEO, Threshold Impact, and Bio-Ware co-founder), Tom Murad (Director, Siemens Engineering and Technology Academy), Justin Riemer (Government of Alberta), Michael Walters (Edmonton City Councillor), Ruth Kelly (President & CEO, Venture Publishing) and Nermeen Youssef (2nd place UAlberta 2014 Lab and 2nd place at 2014 Berlin finale). Presentations are judged on breakthrough factor, impact and performance. The best idea/presentation wins a trip to Berlin to compete in the international Falling Walls Lab finale.
