Harry Maddison

Harry Maddison was the First University of Alberta Law Graduate to become a Judge in the Yukon - he was appointed to the Supreme Court of the Yukon

  • 1953 – Harry Maddison graduated from the University of Alberta, Faculty of Law
  • 1959 – Purchased a law firm in Peace River, Alberta now called M&H Mathieu Hryniuk LLP. The original partners were V.R Baldwin and Claude Campbell who established the firm in the 1940s.
  • 1962–1965 Harry Madison practiced law along with one of the original partners - Claude Campbell who was also or had been a part-time Provincial Judge
  • 1966 Richard Marceau, QC (appointed a Justice of the Queen’s Court of Alberta in 1995), articled to Harry Maddison
  • 1967 Mr. Marceau was admitted to the Bar and practiced with him until Harry Maddison was appointed a Justice to the Supreme Court of the Yukon Territory.
  • 1969 – Harry Maddison was appointed Justice of the Supreme Court of the Yukon Territory
