Nola M. Ries, BA(Hons), JD, MPA, LLM, is a Research Associate with the Health Law Institute. She has also taught with the Faculty of Law and School of Health Information Science at the University of Victoria and provides consulting services to clients in health, government, academic and not-for-profit sectors. Her research, teaching and consulting activities focus on public health law, privacy law, research ethics, regulation of new health technologies, and legal aspects of health system reform. She has authored over 60 articles, book chapters and major reports and is co-editor of Public Health Law and Policy in Canada. Nola is a member of the Bar of British Columbia, Canada, and has practiced in areas of constitutional, administrative and human rights law.
