Academic Integrity and Ethics Training Requirement

All graduate students in Linguistics are required to complete certified academic integrity and ethics training. The Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research has an online suite of training courses that students must complete to fulfill this requirement. Please note that this requirement must be completed in the first semester a student is enrolled.  Registration for courses in the second semester can be blocked until this requirement is completed. A certificate of completion needs to be submitted to the Graduate Programs Administrator.

More information about this requirement can be found on the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research https://www.ualberta.ca/graduate-studies/professional-development/professional-development-requirement/index.htmlwebsite.

Students conducting their own research with human participants must also apply for and receive ethics approval from the University of Alberta Research Ethics Board. Students should prepare their ethics application in consultation with their supervisor.

Students should file copies of all Ethics Approvals (over and above those needed for the Academic Integrity and Ethics Training component) with the department's Graduate Administrator.
