Required Supporting Documents

All documents must be uploaded to the online application prior to the Application Deadlines.

Transcripts

Original copies issued by the institution with an official stamp or seal should be uploaded as PDFs. International students must submit one issued in English and one in the original language (if applicable).

Degree Certificates

This is not a transcript. It provides proof of degree completion, but does not include courses or grades. It must be an original copy issued by the institution with an official stamp or seal. International students must submit one issued in English and one in the original language (if applicable).

Letters of Support (3)

Three letters of reference must be provided. Letters should contain the writer’s current contact information and signature. The online application system will notify your references and allow them to upload their letters. Letters can be academic or business references.

Proof of English Language

Please refer to the English Language Requirement page on the website. Some of the requirements are higher for the department than the FGSR requirements. You must upload the official English Language Score for verification. For additional information see the English Language Proficiency Requirement page on the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research website.

Curriculum Vitae

 The curriculum vitae must be up to date and include the following information:

  • Personal information (including contact information)
  • Education and work experience, in reverse chronological order
  • Technical and language skills
  • Honours and awards
  • Research publications and reports

Personal Statement

This is a short statement (approximately one page) that details why the applicant is pursuing graduate studies with this department, their research interests, and why they would be a suitable candidate.
