Mechanical Engineering Club
The Mechanical Engineering Club is a student-run group that represents the undergraduate students of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta. Its members consist of all of the undergraduate mechanical engineering students. While promoting the professional and academic development of its members, the club works with other student groups to plan programs and activities f and provides social contacts between its members, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and the Faculty of Engineering. The club also provides a meeting/study space and a variety of discount products and services, including food sales, course note sales, engineering paper sales, merchandise sales, locker rentals, and BBQ rentals. The club is a great way to get involved and make the most of your university experience.
Engineers Without Borders
The University of Alberta chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB) began in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in 2001. EWB promotes human development through access to technology. Through its advocacy work, the group endeavors to engage Canadians to appreciate the difficulties facing the majority of the world and to influence the decisions of policy makers.
Engineering Students' Society
The Engineering Students’ Society of the University of Alberta is the student group representing all undergraduate engineering students at the U of A. Founded in 1919, the ESS advocates for engineering student interests at the faculty and university levels, offers academic and professional development services for students, and builds community among engineering students. The Engineering Students' Society's mission is to promote professional awareness among engineering students by encouraging a sense of unity and integrity through the combined efforts of all engineers working together in both social and technical activities.
