Maternal and Neonatal Health Project Ethiopia (2012-2018)

This was a five year project undertaken with funding from the Government of Canada (DFATD) and in partnership with Mount Royal University, Calgary, St. Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College, Addis Ababa, and Ethiopian Federal Ministry of Health


Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry departments involved in global health

  • Medicine (various involvements ID, Cardiology, Preventive Medicine)
  • Family Medicine (developing strong program)
  • Pediatrics (Uganda, Ghana, Nepal)
  • Obstetrics and Gynecology (beginning engagement in Ethiopia)
  • Surgery (new Office for Global Health Surgery; program in Kenya)
  • Emergency Medicine (strong collaboration in Taiwan, Nepal, Uganda)
  • Anesthesiology (with resident bursary)
  • Rehabilitation Medicine
  • Pathology (with Dr. Solez in Nepal)
  • Oncology (in Nairobi at Aga Khan University)
  • Endocrinology (in Nepal)
