Tour 1A: Pathology Museum Tour

Presented by: Medical Laboratory Science

Starting Point: Medical Laboratory Student's Association Booth

The Pathology Museum tour consists of viewing real surgical specimens, and as such, may not be appropriate for all ages/everyone! 

We ask of participants:
- wear closed toed shoes and long pants 
- no photography/ cell phones
- no food or drink in the museum
- specimens are not to be lifted, moved, or touched

Registration: Registration sign up will happen from the Medical Laboratory Student's Association Booth on event day

Both of these labs conduct research that is working to restore movement (after spinal cord injury and in cerebral palsy patients).These researchers are measuring nerve movement, trying to pinpoint how the nerve connections are mapped in the brain.

Starting Point: Radiation Therapy 101 Booth 

Take a walk across campus to the Cross Cancer Institute and see our state-of-the-art training suite housing a Lite Linac machine (minus the therapeutic radiation component, of course!). The same technology used on the clinical floor of the Cross Cancer Institute.  Experience a mock treatment of a “patient” and watch a virtual demonstration of how radiation is delivered during treatment.
