Assistant Dean, Advancement
Daryl Silzer holds a Bachelor's Degree in Sport Administration from the University of Regina. His professional experience spans more than 20 years in fund development and eight years in executive management.
Silzer began his journey with the University of Alberta in January, 2018, when he joined as Senior Director, Faculty Development (Health Sciences). In this role, he jointly managed advancement operations in the faculties of Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences
(ALES), Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Rehabilitation Medicine, and the School of Public Health, in partnership with their respective deans.
Previous roles for Silzer include Associate Vice-President, Development at the Alberta Cancer Foundation, where he provided strategic guidance to leadership on fundraising campaigns and projects, fundraising professionals, program leaders and leadership volunteers in efforts to advance the priorities of the Foundation. He has also been invited to present at numerous national and international conferences.
Outside of work, his family keeps him very busy, particularly his two active teenage sons who are both involved in a variety of sports. He continues to find himself as an assistant hockey coach year after year.
