About MeDr. Wolch earned his Medical Degree at the University of Alberta in 1993 and completed his Family Medicine Residency at the University of Calgary in 1995. In the following year, he completed fellowships in Palliative Care Medicine and Care of the Elderly at the University of Alberta. Following his training, he served as a Palliative Care Consultant and Clinical Assistant Professor at Calgary’s Peter Lougheed Hospital until September 2000, at which time he joined the Department of Medical Oncology at the London Regional Cancer Centre. As of October 2006, he has returned to his roots here at the University of Alberta and joined the Division of Palliative Care Medicine as a Consulting Physician and Associate Clinical Professor. He is the Clinical Director of the Royal Alexandra Hospital palliative care consultation team and serves as one of the palliative medicine consultants at this site. His areas of research include patient handover and prognostication.
Dr. Wolch is involved in teaching the Palliative Medicine Resident Seminar Series, his topic is Pain & Symptom Management: Anorexia/Cachexia/ Asthenia.
