Dr. Brassard is a Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Dermatology at the University of Alberta. Dr. Brassard obtained his undergraduate training and medical degree from Laval University in Quebec City, then his dermatology specialty training at McGill University, completed in 1990. He is currently the Chief Examiner for Dermatology at the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada. He is also Adjunct Professor at McGill University. Dr. Brassard has published several peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and he has given numerous presentations in Canada, Europe, the Middle East, and United States.


Dr. Brassard is involved in teaching of medical students, Dermatology, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and residents of other specialties. His main clinical focus is wound healing and autoimmune cutaneous disease, such as lupus erythematosus and dermatomyositis.  


Dr. Brassard has an extensive history of clinical trials with Pharma, and also in wound healing. His current research interest is mainly focused on medical education.
